Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art presents the new exhibition of Los Carpinteros, a Cuban duo formed by Marco Castillo and Dagoberto Rodríguez. The show features extensive installations, sculptures, watercolour drawings and a film screening.
Often described as “interrogative art”, their work explores and interrogate the functionality of architecture, design and the everyday object, and examines the relationship between art and society, form and function, practicality and frivolousness.
The exhibition presents famous installations such as Tomates, an extensive wall installation with 200 real tomatoes splattered against the gallery wall or 17m, an installation comprised of a 17-metre-long clothing rail on which hang more than two hundred black suits.
