Egon Schiele (1890 – 1918) is one of the most important artists of the early 20th century and a central figure of Austrian Expressionism. The protégé of the famous Austrian Master Gustav Klimt showed the human body in all its glory, with an obsessive intensity.
This exhibition, the first major solo museum show in this country, brings together more than thirty nudes of the artist, which demonstrate Schiele’s technical virtuosity, highly original vision and unflinching depictions of the naked figure.
His radical work is one of the most significant contributions to the development of modern art.
The show will take place in the Courtauld Gallery of London, between October 23th and January 18th, 2015.
