The Danish Arts Foundation has announced the selection of Danh Vo to represent Denmark in next year’s Venice Biennale, reports Kunstkritikk.

The Vietnamese-born artist, who was selected by the country’s Committee for Visual Arts Project Funding, emigrated to Denmark at age four. Among his major exhibitions are “Danh Vo, I M U U R 2” at New York’s Guggenheim Museum in 2013; his inclusion in the New Museum’s second triennial, “The Ungovernables,” in 2012; and his participation in the 2011 Singapore Biennial.

At the 2013 Venice Biennale, which featured Vo’s work in the international exhibition, “The Encyclopedic Palace,” Denmark was represented by painter Jesper Just.

Currently, Vo’s Public Art Fund project, “We The People,” featuring nearly 50 full-scale copper sections of the Statue of Liberty, is on view at City Hall Park in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge Park through December 5 . During the project’s installation, a 40-pound section of copper chain links worth $6,000 was stolen from City Hall Park
